Finishing the 2024/25 Ski season strong

While we try to ignore the fact that we’ve already reached the halfway point of the 2024/25 season, it’s crazy how fast time flies when you're in the White Mountains! It feels like just yesterday we were lining up at Tecumseh Express for the first time, celebrating the start of this amazing season. Mother Nature has been on our side so far—let's hope that continues. In the second half of the season, there’s still plenty of fun to be had both on the mountain and around the resort. We’ve got a variety of events lined up for all ages to enjoy! Check out our Event Calendar for more details on the events below, with more to be added as the season progresses.

Après Ski

The Freestyle Lounge is the place to be on Saturdays! Every Saturday in March, the Freestyle Lounge will host an Après Ski Party from 4-7 p.m., featuring live music and fun for everyone! Is there a better way to spend a Saturday than with some spring skiing, followed by time with friends and family on the Freestyle deck?

In addition to our live music events, we’re also hosting three Friday Family Fun Nights on March 7th and March 14th. From 5-7 p.m., there will be activities for all ages, including Dual NASTAR Racing, Cornhole, Giant Jenga, and more! The event is completely free, with activities available in the Base Lodge and in the Courtyard between the Base Lodge and Top Dog Rentals.

Mountain Events

On Sunday, March 9th, we’re celebrating Halloween in March with our Spring Spooktacular! Wear a costume to the mountain and enjoy trick-or-treating at all the open lifts. Later that week, on Friday, March 14th, we’ll be hosting the final Skin the Moon of the season. The event kicks off at 5:00 p.m., with skinning up Valley Run and Oblivion beneath the glow of the night sky. Upon reaching the summit, enjoy live music, appetizers, and a cash bar at the Schwendi Hütte. Then, at 8:15 p.m., experience the thrill of skiing down under the moonlight.

On Saturday, March 23rd, Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports will host the annual Ski Like a Pirate Day! Take part in this fun day, all for a great cause. Register online at watervilleadaptive.com or at the base lodge.

When the calendar turns to April, we’ll be hosting the first-ever Henderson Invitational! Durham native and U.S. Ski Team athlete Hunter Henderson is bringing his inaugural invitational event to his home mountain, Waterville Valley! A graduate of Waterville Valley Academy, Hunter is excited to create a platform that celebrates East Coast spring skiing while showcasing the talented local skiing community.

Valley Events

On Saturday, March 1st, the Nordic Center will host a Women’s Nordic Clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration includes trail passes, a high-performance rental package, coffee, snacks, lunch, a yoga class, and qualifies you for specials on gear at the Nordic Center! As of February 22nd, all of our Nordic trails are now 100% open!

On Saturday nights starting at 8 p.m., the Valley Pub hosts karaoke! Gather your friends, family, or coworkers for a night out on the town and rock out to your favorite tunes. Karaoke nights are scheduled through the last weekend in April.

Throughout the rest of the season, the Recreation Center will offer events for all ages, including Laser Tag, Pick-Up Basketball, and Pickleball. Check out our Resort Insider for more details on events organized by the Rec. Center. The White Mountain Athletic Club is open year-round, featuring an indoor pool, sauna, steam rooms, weight and cardio rooms, and tennis courts!
