Spoon River Reimagined

A world premiere musical workshop production: “Spoon River Reimagined” is a musical re-telling of Edgar Lee Masters’ classic “Spoon River Anthology” of poems that tell the “from the grave” stories of the town’s rural citizenry. Written and directed by a 16-year-old who won the Marc Paul Decoteau Award (given in honor of a fallen soldier from WV to help local kids live out artistic dreams) and in partnership with the Fiddlehead Field Youth Orchestra, this “life-giving graveyard musical” features an ensemble cast of professional actors/musicians, community members, youth musicians and performers from our theater camp performing traditional Civil War-era spirituals, hymns, the works of O’Conner and Foster as well as original music in a refreshing new take on an old classic --- with a delightfully huge plot twist at the end!
