2025 Memorial Day in Waterville Valley
Make the most of your Memorial Day Weekend with unforgettable events, family fun, and a great community atmosphere!
Live Music:
The Town Square is the place to be this Memorial Day weekend. Catch performances at the Gazebo from 12–3 PM and 4–7 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy unique shows from four different groups throughout the weekend! Grab some drinks, enjoy our open container town, and jam out to some live music under the shadows of 4000-foot mountain peaks.
Events:
We are stacked with events for Memorial Day this year! Starting at 6pm on Friday, May 23rd, head over to the Recreation Departments Multi-Purpose Room for the Speaker Series presented by The Rey Cultural Center and WVRD. The Pemi-Baker Beekeepers' Association will be bringing a lively presentation to the WVRD Multi-Purpose Room for anyone interested in; bees, honey, plants, animals, science, carpentry, eating food, or good stories. Register here!
Make your way to the Town Square on Saturday, May 24th at 8:30am and take part in the 15th Annual Casting for Kirby Fishing Derby! The pond will be freshly stocked with trout, making for an exciting catch-and-release derby. Prizes will be rewarded, with so much fun to be had! Registration is just $8, and kids 15 and under are welcome to participate.
On Sunday the Town Square will be hosting the 35th Annual Chowderfest! Sample chowder from restaurants in the Valley and cast your vote for the best of the bunch! Enjoy the samples for just $7.50 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Live music will be filling the Town Square all afternoon as you taste your way through unique, tasty chowders.
Our Memorial Day events will conclude with the return of the Animal Encounter Series! Join us on Monday, May 26 at 10 AM for live animal presentations by experts from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. It's a great way to learn more about New Hampshire’s wildlife! The series will take place on the lower level of Town Square, with additional Encounter Series events resuming on the first Sunday in July and continuing throughout the summer.
Activities:
As we turn the page on Mud Season, Waterville Valley is the hub for outdoor activities this Memorial Day Weekend!
Play a round of Disc Golf, enjoy a leisurely hike through the cascades, or simply take in the incredible views from Snow’s Mountain! Freedom Pass guests are granted one free ride on Snow’s Mountain per day. Embark on a journey through the Snow’s Mountain’s scenic trail system! Snow’s Mountain is home to Waterville Valley’s 18-hole Disc Golf Course, and there is an additional 9-hole course in the Town Square. There are plenty of other great options for hikes and walking trails in Waterville Valley, so check out our maps before making the decision on your hiking adventure.
