Family Getaway Itinerary
Waterville Valley is the perfect place to get away with your family whether it’s for a larger family reunion, or just a weekend with the kids. Located just two hours north of Boston, the “are we there yet” questions from the backseat will be minimal and in no time you’ll be in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest.
Day 1:
9am: For Breakfast stop into La Tasse for a quick bite. They have delicious pastries and breakfast sandwiches.
10am: Bring the kids on a hike to Goodrich Rock. It’s a moderate 4 mile hike that winds through boulders bringing you to a large glacial erratic. Climb the ladder and enjoy the view of the Valley below. Kids love exploring all the different paths through the boulders on the way.
12:30pm: Return back to Town Square for lunch. Stop into Jugtown and buy supplies to make a picnic lunch to enjoy on the Corcoran Pond beach. The kids can build sandcastles or go for a swim while mom and dad relax.
1:30pm: Nap time. Whether you want to nap in the sun, or back in your accommodations everyone is likely feeling tired. Take a short nap to recharge.
3:00pm: Head into Town Square and enjoy some live music. Mom and dad can relax while the kids run around and play. While you’re there, don’t forget to stop into some shops. There’s great souvenirs at Dreams & Visions and there’s a toy and bookstore for the kids.
6:00pm: Have dinner at Legends. There’s a great family friendly atmosphere with games so that the kids can stay entertained while they wait for their meals.
7:00pm: In need of a night time activity? Check out Break Free 603’s escape rooms. It’ll put the whole family’s minds to the test.
Day 2:
10am: Have brunch at the Clubhouse. Take in the views of Osceola while enjoying a delicious and filling meal.
11am: Take a ride on the Snow’s Mountain lift and take in the views of the surrounding 4000 foot White Mountains. If you have some extra time in your schedule, take the short walk down Snow’s Mountain trail and check out the Cascade’s, a series of waterfalls and swimming holes.
12:30pm: Spend your afternoon at the White Mountain Athletic Club. They have a fun splash pad for the kids, an outdoor pool, and hot tubs inside. Mom and dad can relax poolside whie the kids tucker themselves out for the ride home. Plus, they have a snack shack and bar outside for food and drinks.
