Activity Highlight - Snow's Mountain Chairlift

Snow's Mountain is home to the first ski trails of Waterville Valley, with professionally cut trails dating back to the 1930s. Snow's Mountain Chairlift - a fixed-grip double - was installed as early as 1947. While this ski area is out of commission, Snow's Mountain Chairlift certainly is not.

Unlike most summer chairlifts, Snow's Mountain is not simply a scenic roundtrip. Snow's Mountain Chairlift is unique - it sweeps you up above the Valley floor to an alpine enclave brimming with activities and opportunities for exploration. While you're welcome to enjoy the views, there is a plethora of excitement and adventure waiting for you at the Summit!

DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKING

Waterville Valley is home to over 50 miles of maintained mountain biking trails, weaving deep into the White Mountain National Forest. We have trails for all ability levels, but our trail system is better suited for novice-intermediate mountain bikers. Mountain biking is one of the easiest ways to explore large swaths of the Valley and National Forest. Trails interconnect with roads, hiking trails, and village footpaths - making it easier than ever to pick & choose the route that's right for you and your family.

DISC GOLF

Disc Golf is an easy, fun activity for the whole family! At the top of Snow's Mountain you'll find the beginning of an 18-hole disc golf course. As you play, you will continue to hike down the mountain. As you descend, you can relish in the sweeping views of the surrounding 4-thousand-foot mountain peaks.

WATERFALL HIKES

Cascades Path is perhaps the best kept secret of Snow's Mountain. Along Cascades Path, you'll discover an abundance of natural waterfalls, rapids, plunge pools, diving spots, and swimming holes. After riding Snow's Mountain Chairlift, you'll embark on a 1.5 mile rountrip hike towards Cascade Brook. Upon reaching The Cascades, you'll be greeted by the sounds of rushing waters. From there, you can take a mid-hike dip in the invigorating glacial waters of the Cascades' swimming holes, or enjoy the thrill of cliff-jumping into plunge pools. Or simply take in the clear mountain air while appreciating the serenity of the babbling waterfalls.
