Located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest the experience starts from the highway exit. The approach to Waterville Valley along the Mad River is as good a fall foliage experience as most people would want, but once you get to the village of Waterville Valley you’ll understand why so many people come experience fall’s colors.

The free, open-air trolley that serves the Waterville Valley is also a good way to take in the foliage. It makes a continuous circuit and can get the visitor to any activity in the town.
